The transformation of Bayfield Street in Rosny is complete culminating with the activation of brand new traffic lights at Winkleigh Street.
The project has been one of the biggest undertaken by Clarence City Council in recent years and over $2.5 million has been spent in rejuvenating and modernising the busy business strip.
As a result, the area is not only far more appealing to the eye, thanks to extensive landscaping and new trees, but most importantly much safer for pedestrians and road users alike.
The new traffic lights at Winkleigh and Bayfield Street will allow for safer movement of vehicles in this busy intersection and allow for traffic growth into the future.
There are now new footpaths, stairways, pram crossings and lighting to assist those on foot visiting the many businesses in the area. Previously there were a number of potential hazards which have now been eliminated in the works.
Council prioritised communications with businesses in the area, and where ever possible scheduled contractor works to be completed outside of busiest times in the commercial precinct.
Council would like to thank local business owners for their patience during the lengthy construction period.
