Memorial Park reopens with new railway themed playground

The new and improved Memorial Park located in the heart of the Armadale City Centre was reopened on Friday boasting the recent addition of a railway themed playground.

The official reopening event of the much loved park was attended by former Mayor and Freeman of the City Linton Reynolds who was eager to see the new play equipment that has been installed.

A number of excited children were given first use of the park’s new train station with a rail bridge and a community swing, climbers, slide, and an all abilities seesaw.

An authentic railway signal has also been restored to its former glory and forms the centrepiece of the newly upgraded playground.

City of Armadale Deputy Mayor Ruth Butterfield officially reopened the park with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

“Our community has told us that parks are one of their favourite things about the Armadale region, and the City is committed to improving them for everyone to enjoy.

“This playground has become a favourite over the years to everyone visiting the City Centre, and provides a safe space for children to be active and enjoy being outdoors.

“The latest additions to this much loved park make it even more interesting for children to explore and use their imagination,” she said.
