The Metropolitan Road Improvement Alliance (MRIA), on behalf of Main Roads is upgrading the 6.9km section of Armadale Road between Tapper Road and Anstey Road from two lanes to a four lane dual carriageway.
The upgrade will alleviate current congestion by improving traffic flow and enhance road safety.
As part of the project the Serpentine Trunk Main along Armadale Road in Forrestdale will be replaced and to facilitate this, the closure of Armadale Road between Taylor Road and Nicholson Road is required.
Closure of Armadale Road at Nicholson Road 9pm Friday 21 September to 4am Monday 24 September
The intersection of Nicholson Road and Armadale Road will be upgraded to a four lane bridge (two in each direction) over a roundabout at Nicholson Road.
A temporary roundabout to the north-east of the existing intersection will be constructed to maintain connectivity during construction of the new interchange.
To facilitate this, two phases of road closures are required as follows:
Phase 1: Nicholson Road closed between Armadale Road & Rowley Road 9pm Friday 28 September to 9pm Friday 5 October
Phase 2: Nicholson Road & Armadale Road intersection closed 9pm Friday 5 October to 4am Monday 8 October
Please plan ahead and allow extra travel time as delays are expected.
