Family fun at Cabramatta Moon Festival

There will be something for everyone in the family at the 20th annual Cabramatta Moon Festival on Sunday, 23 September.
To celebrate the festival’s 20th anniversary, there will be 20 amusement rides on offer – the biggest selection ever. There will be family rides, thrill rides and carnival games, including an exciting T-Rex ride.
Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone said Cabramatta Moon Festival was the perfect place to be for a full day of exciting family fun.
“I am proud of the amazing line-up of family-friendly activities and entertainment at this year’s Moon Festival,” Mayor Carbone said.
“It is events like this that underscore Fairfield City as the perfect place to live and raise a family.
“I encourage all our families, and families from right across Sydney, to make the effort to be there on 23 September to experience the sights, sounds, and flavours of Cabramatta.”
There will be paddleboats and a Pixar Cars ride from 11am to 7.30pm and ‘giant’ games from 3.30pm to 7.30pm – including a huge version of Connect 4, and a PJ Masks inflatable.
In Dutton Plaza, there will be free Lego and origami workshops from 11am to 7.30pm, and free face painting from 10am to 3pm.
In Cook Square, don’t miss the Kookies N Kream hip hop routine and workshop from 12pm to 1pm; the Kids Full Moon Disco from 2pm to 5pm; and the interactive youth area, featuring LED hula hoops, DJ and giant yard games, from 5pm to 8pm.
The major highlight for the kids will be the PJ Masks Show at 12.30pm and 2.30pm at the Blue Star Air Conditioning Stage. Children can also meet their heroes Catboy, Owlette and Gekko at 1.30pm at the PJ Masks Headquarters, which will also have colouring-in activities from 1pm to 6pm.
Vietnamese pop princess Minh Tuyet will wow the crowds on the main stage in a performance that is sure to please the whole family.
From 9am to 8pm, the streets of Cabramatta will come alive with a variety of fun, family friendly activities and culinary delights, centred around Freedom Plaza and its iconic Pailau gates. Stalls open from 9am, with entertainment from 11am.
The crowd favourites will be returning, including the prawn peeling competition, children’s chopstick challenge and noodle and moon cake eating competitions.
There will be plenty of delicious street food to enjoy, plus Railway Parade will be converted into a dining precinct. And don’t forget the dozens of delicious and popular restaurants and fresh food markets right across Cabramatta.
There will also be the traditional lion dance to kick off the celebrations, community performances, market stalls, and the lantern parade led by the Moon Goddess. The celebrations will conclude with a colourful fireworks display.
