Ballarat (City) 13 Sep 2018

The City of Ballarat is calling on Ballarat Paralympians and their families to be part of a new monument in their honour at Lake Wendouree.

The Ballarat Paralympic Walk will acknowledge Ballarat athletes that have represented Australia at the Paralympic Games.

It will be officially opened later this year.

The Walk is located next to the Ballarat Olympic Precinct, which recognises Ballarat’s role as host city of rowing, canoeing and kayaking events at the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games, as well as Ballarat athletes who have represented Australia at all previous Olympics.

The City of Ballarat has worked with the Australian Paralympic Committee to put together a list of Ballarat's Paralympians to be acknowledged at the Walk.

The City of Ballarat is also encouraging people who have represented Australia at previous Paralympic Games, or their family and friends, to make contact.

If you would like to nominate a Ballarat Paralympian, application forms are available from the Ballarat Paralympic Walk page at the City of Ballarat website. For more information, contact the City of Ballarat’s Robert Clark Centre on 5320 5135.
