Governor-General visits Wollongong

His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Her Excellency Lady Cosgrove will visit Wollongong on Tuesday 11 September.
Wollongong City Lord Mayor Cr Gordon Bradbery AM will host the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove at a reception in the Wollongong Art Gallery.
The civic reception will be attended by State Members of Parliament, representatives of the Aboriginal community, Wollongong City Councillors, Local Community Groups, representatives from local businesses and the University of Wollongong and also the recipients of Wollongong’s Australia Day Awards.
“I look forward to welcoming the Governor-General on behalf of the people of Wollongong,” said Cr Bradbery. “We will introduce Sir Peter to many local and regional community members at a civic reception, followed by a stroll along the refurbished Blue Mile Tramway Shared path.
“Wollongong has changed and developed in recent years with steady economic growth. I hope to share details of this transition with Sir Peter and Lady Cosgrove.”
