Queen's Baton Relay - Rockingham Route
City of Rockingham 13 Sep 2018

The street-level detail and community celebrations are now available to explore at www.gc2018.com/qbr. The Baton will travel through the City of Rockingham on the afternoon of Friday 23 February along a route which commences with a quick visit to Penguin Island. Afterwards, at 4.30pm, it will set off along Arcadia Drive up to the intersection of First Avenue and Boundary Road. The convoy then relocates to Rotary Park for the next stage along the Esplanade, finishing at Churchill Park at 5.30pm. The Baton will be there until 6pm. A community celebration event will commence in Churchill Park at 4.30pm and continue until 7pm.

Mayor Barry Sammels said “The City of Rockingham is very fortunate to be taking an active part in this internationally significant event. I encourage all our residents to come and support the batonbearers along the route, and join us at Churchill Park to share in the City’s moment as a Commonwealth Games celebration community.”

The Queen’s Baton will arrive on Australian soil in Brisbane on 24 December 2017, having shared the dream of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games with over one third of the world’s population during an epic 288 day journey through the Commonwealth.

Batonbearers will be informed of their street-specific slotting location in December. Details will be updated at www.gc2018.com/qbr in the weeks prior to the Baton coming to Rockingham.
