Mitchell Shire Council has prepared Planning Scheme Amendment C124 to the Mitchell Planning Scheme. The amendment proposes to rezone 80 Clarke Street and 109 Northern Highway, Kilmore from Industrial 1 Zone to Commercial 1 Zone. Amendment C124 is combined with a Planning Permit under Section 96a of the Planning and Envrionment Act 1987. The associated planning permit application PLP203/17 seeks to allow construction of:

 A full line supermarket  A medical centre  Retail stores

The permit also seeks to allow the sale of packaged liquor from the site.

EXHIBITION

The exhibition period for Planning Scheme Amendment C124 commences on 14 September 2018, and closes on Monday 22 October 2018.

HOW DO I MAKE A SUBMISSION?

Any person who may be affected by Amendment C124 may make a submission to Council. Please be aware that any submission received is a public document and may be available for viewing by members of the public. The closing date for submissions is Monday 22 October 2018.  All submissions must be made in writing and sent to:

WHAT HAPPENS IF I MAKE A SUBMISSION?

All submissions are required to be formally considered by Council. In the event that submitter concerns cannot be resolved by Council officers, Council may refer submissions to an Independent Planning Panel for consideration. The Planning Panel is appointed by the Minister for Planning and will include a public hearing where all submitters can be heard. The Planning Panel will review each submission individually and provide recommendations to Council and the Minister for Planning.

Dates for the Panel Hearings have been set as follows:

Directions Hearing – Week commencing 21 January 2019 Panel Hearing – Week commencing 25 February 2019

If a Panel Hearing is required, further details regarding hearing procedure and specific dates will be provided to all submitters prior to the hearing.
