Registrations are now open for Eurobodalla residents to be part of Australia’s biggest community and sustainability event, the Garage Sale Trail.
The trail is a festival of garage sales across Australia that encourages reusing, recycling and community spirit.
Households, schools, community groups and anyone up for a day of fun can register for the event, to be held Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 October.
Eurobodalla Council’s Waste Services Manager Adam Patyus said last year’s Garage Sale Trail diverted more than four million tonnes from landfill by giving new life to over 1.5 million items from more than 15,000 garage sales across Australia.
“With average households making over $350, the Garage Sale Trail is a perfect opportunity to declutter the house, meet your neighbours and make some pocket money at the same time,” he said.
“It’s also a great way to embrace the reduce and reuse message. Shoppers can grab a bargain and turn someone else’s trash into their treasure.”
Six garage sales have already registered for the event in Eurobodalla this year. To register to hold a sale on the weekend, or to see garage sales near you, head to www.garagesaletrail.com.au
