Spring has sprung, and so too is the opportunity for adults in Maroondah to try their hand at learning something new.
There are several community centres located in Maroondah that offer a range of workshops and classes throughout the year. Infact, Term 4 (October-December) programs are now available at each of the community houses.
Councillor Tasa Damante said getting involved with one of Maroondah’s Community Houses provided an opportunity to enhance your life through education and training opportunities in a local community setting.
“Age and previous educational experiences are no barrier to learning opportunities available through adult and community education,” said Cr Damante.
“From business, literacy and computer technology courses to crafts and yoga, adult and community education can pave the way for significant personal and professional development,” she said.
“As well as providing options to improve employment or education opportunities, adult and community education also helps people to forge stronger links with their local community, make new friends and boost their self-esteem.”
Whether you’re looking to pursue a hobby or want to further your studies, community centres offer creative programs and classes that encourage personal development and artistic expression – often for the fraction of the cost of alternatives, and sometimes free!
