A couple of weeks ago, one of our coordinators was invited by SeaDog Vets to take part in their 'Healthy Animals, Healthy Community' program in Coen and Laura. It was an incredible experience to assist in treating the dogs. Dogs that were hairless only a few months prior, were now appearing with their coats all grown back. Some of the members of the community were expressing their gratitude and disbelief at the state of their dogs - and rightly so.
The idea is that by treating the dogs in the community for mange and worms, that the overall health of the community would be better. Winner winner!
Heaps of dogs were desexed, and treated for mange, fleas, worms and ticks and some food was donated by ourselves and Yaps (Thankyou!!) to some grateful families.
Thankyou Duncan, Kate, Helen and Brook for a great week and a special thanks to Ann Louise from the Exchange Hotel Coen for the donation of accommodation!!
An amazing trip with some beautiful people (and dogs ????) ❤
PS they need a plane to continue their work in the communities ????
