Help design New Junction’s first public open space – for you and the community.
To understand your aspirations and future requirements for the space, the City has undertaken extensive consultation with the community through the development of the Place Making Strategy and Masterplan.
These ideas have informed the key aspects of the draft Public Open Space design including:
An urban recreation ground with a kick about green space and grandstand seating A civic precinct with native gridded tree plantings which pay tribute to Midland’s agricultural heritage Multi-age play elements for juniors and teens; and Public art and interpretive attractions that capture site-specific history. It is intended to construct the public open space in a staged approach, with Stage 1 works to commence in mid-2019.
We invite you to review the draft Stage 1 concept design and welcome your thoughts and feedback.
The City will be hosting an information session on the design for interested community members. Register to attend by contacting Liah Ale by telephone on (08) 9267 9267 or by email.
The closing date for your feedback has been extended to October 19, 2018.
Your feedback will inform the recommendations on the final design of the public space presented to Council at a future meeting.
