2018 New Norfolk Christmas Parade - Registration of Interest

The 2018 New Norfolk Christmas Parade will take place on Saturday, December 8 from 12 noon to 1pm. It is one of Tasmania's best known Christmas celebrations, and brings over a thousand people to the New Norfolk town centre each year.

Previous parades have featured community groups, fire brigades, schools and bands, all dressed up, making plenty of noise and celebrating the holiday season. Please note:-

Marshalling of the floats will commence at 11.00 am outside the Star and Garter Hotel in High St, New Norfolk, with the Parade starting 12 noon. All floats must be there by 11.30 am to ensure the Parade starts on time. As per last year, the parade will run from Arthur Square end of High Street towards the council chambers, around Circle Street and back towards Arthur Square, completing where it started. Any vehicle used in the Parade must be road registered. There are to be no fully costumed Santas on floats. There is only one Santa, and he's already booked in. Christmas hats and other costumes are welcome. Lollies must not be thrown; all lollies must be individually wrapped and handed out by participants walking alongside floats. All participants must comply with any instruction given by Marshals, obey road closure signage and participate in the entire Parade. Organisers reserve the right to reject any float that does not comply with the above guidelines. Bring a smile and a sense of humour!
