Fairfield City Council is calling on residents to direct the future of the City’s bike paths and facilities with the development of the Fairfield City Bicycle Plan.
Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone said one of Council’s priorities is to ensure there are a variety of affordable options for residents to get out and about with family and friends and get healthy.
“Cycling is an ideal way to enjoy a healthy lifestyle. It raises heart and lung function, is low impact and you can take it as easy or hard as you like,” he said.
“Fairfield City Council already provides an extensive network of about 90km of off-road shared bicycle paths across the City.
“Council’s extensive network of shared paths connects with a number of main cycling routes across the City. There are three main regional cycling routes that travel in an east-west direction, and two regional routes that travel in a north-south direction.
“To ensure we provide the bike paths that the community needs and wants, I encourage residents to give us their views so we can develop a long-term bicycle plan for our City.”
