Be Aware of Animals on the Roads during the Drought
Balranald (Area) 17 Sep 2018

Motorists are being warned they face a greater risk of animal strikes after reports of increased numbers of wildlife and livestock taking to the roads in search of food and water.

Member for Murray Austin Evans said wildlife, particularly kangaroos and wallabies, are being drawn to the roadside as they are attracted to the roadside vegetation.

“Another hazard on the road at present is the amount of stock travelling on the roadsides as farmers are making the most of some of the last remaining available feed,” Mr Evans said. – Click on the link for more information
