Whitsunday Regional Council has been forced to close the Collinsville Pool from tomorrow for further repairs to ongoing leak issues.

The pool will reopen to the community on September 29.

During the winter closure period in Collinsville, work to upgrade the aquatic facilities was undertaken.

These works included upgrades to filtration units, the chlorine dosing system, the pools balance tank, repairing of cracks in the pool, and the replacement of material in the expansion joints of the pool.

Further upgrades were carried out to the childrens pool with pipework renewed.

Council completed these extensive upgrades prior to the pool reopening on September 1.

An leak has since been found and Council has acted quickly to fix the issue.

Council realises that water is an important resource, and has made the decision to close the pool to the public to expedite repairs in an effort to conserve water.

Council apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.
