The North Sydney Art Prize is a major biennial arts event showcasing some of the best in contemporary art by artists across Australia.
The indoor and outdoor works will be selected for exhibition 2-17 March 2019 at the iconic Coal Loader in Waverton. Selected works will be exhibited in the Caretakers Cottage, Artist Studio, Workshop, Mess Hall, Platform, Tunnels 1 & 2, newly refurbished Chambers, and throughout the Coal Loader site and surrounding parklands. This unique site enables broad participation and accommodates the inclusion of all mediums.

Applications will be accepted only using the online application form linked below.
Artists are required to read the North Sydney Art Prize 2019 Conditions of Entry (587KB) before submitting an application. If submitting a proposal for an installation, please include images of previous works, if applicable. If submitting a proposal for a sculpture or installation a site visit is recommended, however Tunnel 1 and the adjacent chambers are closed to the public and accessible by appointment only. The curatorial theme outlined in The North Sydney Art Prize 2019 Brief (577KB) , embraces innovation and encourages artists to consider the overarching principles of the Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability.
