Eurobodalla Council is recruiting for its annual trainee and apprentice intake.
Council has 14 positions available as part of the program, which has provided training and employment opportunities for more than a decade.
Positions include six youth traineeships in the areas of customer service and information, development services, environmental services, human resources (learning and development), property and commercial services and community care. These positions are for people aged under 21 who live in Eurobodalla.
Council is also seeking applications from people of all ages and experience for six water industry operations traineeships and two horticulture apprenticeships for parks and gardens.
Starting in February 2019, all positions combine on-the-job learning with formal study and result in a qualification at the end of the term.
Council’s Senior HR Officer Jenny Nardusso said the youth program gave young people an edge in the competitive job market.
“The trainee and apprentice program offers people of all ages a chance to get a qualification and valuable work experience locally while earning an income,” she said.
“These are wonderful opportunities for enthusiastic and reliable people to join our team.”
Applications close Wednesday 17 October 2018.
Council is also seeking a bridge carpentry apprentice and civil construction apprentice to start in November 2018. Closing date for these positions is Monday 24 September 2018.
