Country music darling Brooke McClymont and her partner Adam Eckersley will be performing at Not Just for Laughs 4 events across the region this October.

Western Downs Regional Council is again working to cultivate hope, strengthen resilience and lift the spirits of our drought-affected communities by presenting the free Not Just for Laughs regional comedy tour this October.

Council is taking the tour to the next level this year by welcoming comedians Merrick Watts, Mel Buttle, award-winning country music star Brooke McClymont and her partner Adam Eckersley to Drillham, Glenmorgan and Jandowae.

Council Spokesperson for Community and Cultural Development Councillor Kaye Maguire said this event is something close to her heart and she was thrilled that the community’s response has been so positive.

“Our region is full of great events, but this one is particularly special because it’s all about showing our support for our struggling communities,” she said.

“It’s definitely bigger and better this time. In the past we’ve just invited comedians, but this year we’ve got a country music superstar in Brooke McClymont who’ll be performing with her partner Adam Eckersley and from our feedback on social media it’s clear that our residents are very excited for this event.

“We’re listening to our communities and we want to keep delivering fantastic events for everyone to enjoy so I’m excited that we can come together in our smaller towns for what will be a night for everyone to remember.”

The event is supported by the Queensland Government through drought assistance funding. Each show is free to attend however members of the community are encouraged to secure their seats by booking their free tickets online.

Not Just for Laughs 4 will be stopping in the following towns:

Drillham — Thursday 11 October Glenmorgan — Friday 12 October Jandowae — Saturday 13 October
