Ballarat (City) 20 Sep 2018

This week we welcome back thousands of teachers to Ballarat for the Victorian Teachers' Games.

The City of Ballarat is proud to support and sponsor the Victorian Teachers' Games for another year.

Teachers from across the state first competed in our beautiful city in 2002, returning again in 2003, 2012, 2013 and 2017.

We’re thrilled to be once again hosting such a major event on the education calendar, while promoting participation in sport.

Our city has a strong history of hosting multi-sport events; we have the facilities and infrastructure which ensure they are successful.

As the biggest sponsor of the event we look forward to welcoming teachers from around the state to compete and enjoy the social and cultural attractions our city offers.

What’s most exciting is the fact more than 90 per cent of competitors this year are visitors to our city.

We hope teachers have the chance to visit our many attractions during your stay with us, such as the Eureka Centre and Sovereign Hill. These attractions promote fine educational programs, which we hope provides you an opportunity to return to our city through school visits.

I wish all competitors, whatever their sport, all the very best.

We hope you leave Ballarat with wonderful memories and we look forward to welcoming you back to our city again soon.
