Free skating workshops will be held in Guyra, Tingha and Armidale during the first week of the school holidays.

Professional instructors Totem Skateboarding will hold three-hour clinics in Tingha on Tuesday 2 October, Guyra on Wednesday 3 October and Armidale 4 October.

The clinics, starting at 10am each day, will include demonstrations, lessons and giveaways.

“They are designed for skateboard and scooter riders aged five years and over, from beginners to intermediates, and are open to all skill levels,” Council’s Youth and Family Coordinator, Alice Cleaver, said.

“The instructors work on skating skills and techniques, as well as focusing on equipment maintenance and ensuring safety gear is fitted correctly.

“All required equipment is available to borrow, or participants can bring their own gear.”

Alice said each workshop is limited to 20 people, so instructors can work closely with each participant.

“Interested people should move quickly to book a spot,” she said.
