Are you interested in regional issues and developing your leadership skills to be a catalyst for positive change in the local community?

Strathbogie Shire Council invites enthusiastic citizens of the Strathbogie Shire to apply to participate in the Fairley Leadership Program in 2019.

The Fairley Leadership Program is a Goulburn Murray based organisation which aims to develop leaders to explore major issues facing the region’s communities and ways to implement positive change.

This decision to sponsor a member of the local community was made at the Ordinary Council Meeting in May 2018.

Strathbogie Shire Mayor Amanda McClaren is a Fairley Fellow, was the Executive Director of the program between 2013 and 2014 and Chief Executive Officer between 2015 and 2016, before becoming mayor.

“We have very strong connections with the Fairley Leadership Program, with three previous mayors who are also Fairley Fellows, including Colleen Furlanetto who was mayor in 2016 and is a powerful advocate for those living with a disability.”

“Fairley is a nationally recognised qualification that builds skills and confidence and is a great way to network with other leaders in the region,” Cr McClaren said.

“As a council, we saw this as a fantastic opportunity to invest in our community leaders, who will play a crucial role in building flourishing communities.”
