Cessnock City Council in partnership with Transport NSW is hosting a free workshop for parents and supervisors of learner drivers from 6 to 8pm on Thursday 6 September 2018.
This free workshop offers practical advice on how to teach learner drivers to be safer motorists with the hope of making the road to P plates a whole lot smoother.
The evening will cover the current laws for L and P licence holders, supervising learner drivers, completing the log book, low risk driving and the benefits of supervised on-road driving experience.
Kellie O’Connor participated in the workshop back in March just before her daughter got her L plates and she said it was a great thing to do as it gave her more confidence to help her daughter.
“I walked away from the workshop feeling so much more comfortable to supervise a learner driver and I also appreciated the information about changed and often misunderstood road rules,” said Kellie.
Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent is encouraging anyone who is teaching someone to drive to book a spot in this free workshop.
“Driving a vehicle is one of the most important skills you can learn and having a teacher who is up to date on the current rules and knowledge makes all the difference.”
“These workshops have been so popular in our community over the past few years, with the reason being they are just so valuable to both the supervisor and learner driver,” added Cr Pynsent
Don’t miss out! The workshops will take place in Council’s Administration Building and you can book your spot today by calling Council’s Road Safety Officer, Warren Jeffery on 4993 4244.
