Our Region has many community organisations and groups that support and enrich the lives of our youth.

Many of these community organisations and groups are run by volunteers and quite often they may not have the funds available to meet the needs of the youth. New uniforms or equipment may need to be purchased, or funds to travel to events or special training.

One of the best ways to help our region is to help our young people and it’s essential to provide the resources and facilities to meet our community’s needs.

We want our youth to remain in our community and it’s one of Council’s priorities to build an inclusive community where young people can find the place in it.

Through the Mayor’s Junior Community Grants, community groups with groups aged between Pre-Prep to Grade 12 can apply for funding assistance.

I want to give the youth all the support they need and provide these funds from the allowance I receive for the use of my vehicle while conducting Council business.

This is an amazing opportunity for our youth to identify and seek funding for important causes. I encourage parents and youth leaders to take advantage of these grants.

I am amazed at the diversity of projects our young folk are keen to pursue.

If you have a project that needs one-off assistance, please apply now as round 4 closes on September 21.
