ARTTRA | Light Festival will illuminate Claremont Park for three consecutive nights from 6-8 April, with visual installations and captivating performances from all over Australia.
Mayor Barker said the festival, now in its fourth year, was one of the highlights of Town of Claremont’s event calendar.
“ARTTRA has grown significantly since the inaugural 2014 event,” Mayor Barker said. “This year we are really taking the name literally, using art to transform one of the most iconic places within our community.”
More than 20 artists have been hand-picked to stimulate your senses with interactive projections, vibrant light sculptures and entertaining satellite performances on show throughout the weekend.
Mayor Barker said artworks would be custom designed to be exhibited within Claremont Park. “Our artists are going to be working with their surroundings – lighting up our magnificent trees and projecting on our Council building to create a unique, interactive and illuminated outdoor gallery experience,” Mayor Barker said. “This free festival is for the Claremont community and all of our neighbouring communities to come and enjoy.”
The event’s fire-inspired food options will tingle the taste buds. Event goers will enjoy delicious menu items such as wood-fired pizza, barbeques and flame-grilled burgers with everyone’s favourite, toasted marshmallows, to finish off the night.
This luminescent light festival will be a weekend not to be missed. Come experience, create and participate at this free, family friendly festival.
More information on artist works will be announced in the coming weeks. Back To News Stories
