Calling all Artists for Claremont Art Award
Town of Claremont is calling for entries for its fourth annual Art Award & Exhibition, offering WA artists the chance to win part of a $10,000 prize pool. Entries are now open to all WA artists including local residents, emerging talent or established artists. Artists will also have the opportunity to be exhibited and have their artwork on sale to thousands of people from 11-25 August 2018. “We are delighted to bring the talents of local and state wide artists into the heart of our community,” said Mayor Jock Barker. “With a great prize pool and exhibiting opportunity, many artists are now including it in their calendar. It also provides art lovers with the opportunity to purchase high quality, unique and locally produced artworks.” The first prize, which is acquisitive, is $5000, second prize is $2500, third prize $1500. The Claremont Local Award prize is $500 and there is also a People’s Choice Award for the most popular artwork as voted by the public visiting the exhibition of $500. To enter artists must be aged 16 or over and reside in Western Australia. Accepted mediums are sculptures, acrylic, oil, print, watercolour, mixed media, pastel, textile and works on paper.
