Town of Claremont Mayor Jock Barker said the Garage Sale Trail was a fun and social way for the community to reuse and recycle, and turn unwanted goods into cash. “Garage Sale Trail also provides a way to meet your neighbours and connect with the broader community whilst decluttering and raising money for yourself or local causes. We're really pleased to be involved in this grass roots event that, like the reuse movement, is growing year on year.” Platform organisers project that 1.5+ million items will be listed for sale and reuse. And last year the average: · Household sale made $370 on the day · Participants connected with 50 local people · And redistributed 250kgs of stuff “We ask sellers to name their sale which is a bit of fun and adds a little colour to their garage sale event,” said Garage Sale Trail Co-Founder Darryl Nichols. “Some past examples include The Almost Deceased Estate, It’s a Divorce, Garage Sale of the Century and The Only Lionel Vinyl Sale.” The first 1,250 sellers who register before the 10 September will receive a free seller pack with posters, price tags and more to help maximize their sales success.
