Thanks to the generosity of sponsors and guests, more than $46,000 was raised at the 2018 Liverpool City Council Charity Ball for local organisation Liverpool Neighbourhood Connections.

Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller said the Havana-inspired affair, held at The William Inglis Hotel on Saturday 22 September, was a huge success.

“Alongside our generous sponsors and partners, more than 300 guests at our fifth annual Liverpool City Council Charity Ball dug deep to assist us in raising more than $46,000 for Liverpool Neighbourhood Connections,” Mayor Waller said.

“It was our biggest and brightest Charity Ball to date, with guests treated to a swathe of colourful, Cuban-influenced food, beverages and entertainment.

“On behalf of Councillors and staff, I would like to extend a sincere thank you to our guests, sponsors and partners, MC Sandra Sully and our performers for contributing to the event’s fundraising success.”

Pat Hall, Liverpool Neighbourhood Connections CEO, said she was delighted that so many people showed their support.

“We are delighted and humbled by the generosity of Liverpool City Council, Charity Ball sponsors and the many people who attended or donated,” Ms Hall said.

“The funds will go towards a new vehicle for transporting people to workshops and excursions, greatly assisting Liverpool Neighbourhood Connections to break the cycle of generational unemployment through our various programs.”

Liverpool City Council Charity Ball sponsors and partners included Inglis Riverside Stables, Daikin, South Western Sydney Local Health District, the University of Wollongong, Your Family Dentist Liverpool, OCS Fun, C91.3FM, Crystal Productions, Signarama Liverpool, Ben Williams Photography, Simplicity Funerals, Acai Brothers Liverpool, Monica Rose Creations and Wheely Gourmet.
