Baw Baw Shire Council is offering free green waste drop off days at selected transfer stations in October to help residents prepare their properties for the upcoming fire season.
Mayor of Baw Baw Shire Cr Joe Gauci said this is a great opportunity for all residents to do some outdoor spring cleaning before the warmer weather arrives.
“Regardless of whether you live in-town or more rurally, reducing vegetation around the home is one of the most important ways to reduce the risk of fire” said the Mayor.
“We’re pleased to offer this free service to our community and strongly encourage everyone to get outside and rid their properties of unnecessary green waste”, said the Mayor.
