Council will be visiting 12 localities from Keppel Sands to Stanage to meet with residents about Council business while creating an opportunity to provide feedback at the next round of Community Meetings.
Starting off in Byfield on 2 October, Mayor Bill Ludwig is encouraging residents to come along to the meetings taking place across the region throughout October and November.
“Some of the agenda items will include the whole of community plan, waste objectives and initiatives, Sister City update and investment opportunities, sports tourism and partnerships, as well as an update on the 2018/2019 budget, capital projects and Council’s strategic view of the Shire,” Mayor Ludwig said.
“These meetings are extremely important for not only connecting with the communities within our Shire, but to also discuss future plans for the region and receive valued input from residents.”
Deputy Mayor Nigel Hutton said Council appreciates those residents who take the time to engage in the meetings and looks forward to seeing locals attend these upcoming visits.
“The meetings will begin with a formal presentation followed by a social gathering that will allow residents and Councillors to speak one-on-one,” Cr Hutton said.
“To encourage more input and participation, Council’s new Get Involved engagement platform will enable residents who can’t attend the meetings to hear what their Mayor and Councillors will deliver at the meetings and provide the opportunity to ask questions and have them answered.
“All feedback provided using this platform will be responded to directly or captured as a customer request and logged, in the same manner as requests captured at the meetings.
“A brief video of each Councillor will also be available for viewing on the Get Involved page on Council’s website.”
