Footpath works are underway across the municipality to carry out much needed improvements and link residents to public transport services, paths and townships.

The $64.29 million capital works program for 2018/19 included $4.87 million for new and upgraded footpaths and cycleways.

A new 150m long concrete footpath at Nicholas St Lilydale has been completed, costing $42,000 and a path at Roseman Road, Chirnside Park has recently been completed for $100,000.

Other footpaths underway during October/November include:

Shadowplay Road, Mooroolbark – New concrete footpath from Manchester Road to Old Kent Road ($80,000). To begin in October. Victoria Road, Chirnside Park – New Concrete footpath from Maroondah Highway to Akarana Road ($66,000). To start in October.

Wyuna Walk, Mooroolbark – New concrete footpath from Myoora Drive to Woodville Road ($53,000). To begin in October.

Footpaths Hillview Drive and Deborah Street, Kilsyth – New concrete footpath from Liverpool Road to Geoffrey Drive ($120,000).Begins November 2018. Liverpool Road, Kilsyth - New Concrete footpath from Canterbury Road to 215 Liverpool Road ($40,000). To begin in November.
