A vibrant town square with an eat street and a mix of shops, health and medical businesses and entertainment has been given the green light at Edmondson Park Town Centre.

Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller welcomed the Sydney Western City Planning Pannel’s approval of the development application for the first half of the Edmondson Park Town Centre.

“This truly is an exciting development for Edmondson Park residents and we can’t wait to see it take shape,” Mayor Waller said.

“We recently undertook a historic rezoning of Liverpool’s city centre, cementing its future as Sydney’s third CBD.

“Edmondson Park is the next big step in Liverpool’s vision for planned, liveable, vibrant town centres.”

The approval allows work to start on part of the town centre at Edmondson Park South.

The mixed-use development will include 423 apartments above a range of shops and a cinema, spread across six buildings ranging from six to 14 storeys high.

“Residents will be happy to note that the development also includes 1500 parking spaces,” Mayor Waller said.

“After a long campaign, the State Government has promised to investigate more parking at the train station. At least in the town centre, there will be parking for the people who will live and shop at there.

“I’m also looking forward to seeing the town square and the arcades full of shops and eateries.

“It’s going to be a great place for the Edmondson Park community to spend time with their families.”
