October’s program of arts and cultural events mixes Parisian street music with an exhibition highlighting the everlasting bond between human and horses.
Equus at Kyneton MuseumBringing together photographs, original paintings, historical artefacts and more, Equus shines a light on the unique relationship between horse and human.
Showing at Kyneton Museum from Friday 21 September, the exhibition presents a range of items that chart the evolution of equine fashion and man’s reliance on the horse in agriculture and transport.
Objects on show include original blacksmith tools, decorative riding habits, historical side-saddles, wagons, riding boots from the late 1890s, and more.
Kyneton Museum is at 67 Piper Street, Kyneton and open Friday to Sunday, 11am to 4pm. Entry fees apply.
Exposing Edith at Kyneton Town HallTaking a voyage of love, loss and sorrow on Friday 12 October with the award-winning cabaret show, Exposing Edith.
Dubbed ‘The Little Sparrow’ by those that saw her singing on the street corners of Paris in the 1930s, the show pays tribute to the late French chanteuse, Edith Piaf.
Performed at Kyneton Town Hall at 11.30am, the work is created by and stars Michaela Burger and Greg Wain, and delves into the music and stories from Edith’s life.
Tickets are $25 adults, $22.50 seniors and $20 concession.
