Baw Baw Shire Council is reviewing several recreation reserve master plans to ensure key directions and recommendations remain relevant and suitable to community needs.
The reviews will consider the status of listed projects, current participation data, sporting code changes, State Government focus areas and the effects of relevant changes and pressures.
Reviewing recreation master plans every four years is a key recommendation from the Recreation Strategy 2017-2027.
Plans currently under review include:
Warragul Outdoor Recreation Plan Drouin Recreation Plan Trafalgar Recreation Precinct Master Plan Dowton Park Master Plan Baw Baw Equestrian Centre Master Plan Rural Recreation Reserve Master Plans for Athlone, Buln Buln, Ellinbank, Hallora, Jindivick, Neerim South and Rawson.Mayor of Baw Baw Shire Cr Joe Gauci is encouraging residents and sporting groups to get involved in the review process and have their say on these important guiding documents.
“To assist with the review process, we’ve prepared progress reports for each master plan. These progress reports act as a snapshot for each plan providing a summary, original and revised maps and a traffic light system showing the status of each project”, said the Mayor.
“Throughout the consultation period we’re hosting 23 community information and engagement sessions across the Shire. These sessions are a great opportunity to ask questions and provide your input into the review process. We highly encourage interested community members and groups to come along, get involved and have their say.”
Sessions will take place in Warragul, Drouin, Trafalgar, Yarragon, Lardner, Athlone, Buln Buln, Ellinbank, Hallora, Jindivick, Neerim South and Rawson. For full session details please go to www.bawbawshire.vic.gov.au/HaveYourSay
Feedback can be provided via an online survey, in writing or at the upcoming community information and engagement sessions until 5.00pm on Friday 30 November.
