Bay CBD works progress

A section of Beach Road Batemans Bay will be closed for three nights next week while Eurobodalla Council installs stormwater culverts and an underground water pipe.

Beach Road will be closed between the Princes Highway and Perry Streets on Tuesday 2 October, Wednesday 3 October and Thursday 4 October between 7pm and 6am.

Motorists wanting to turn onto Beach Road from the Princes Highway will be required to enter via the traffic lights at North Street.

Motorists exiting Beach Road heading south on the Princes Highway can turn left at the Perry St roundabout and enter the highway near McDonalds.

Those wanting to head north on the highway from Beach Road will need to turn right at the Perry St roundabout and enter the Highway via North St.

The work is dependent on weather conditions. Beach Road will be open as normal outside these hours.

Following the school holidays work will resume on the additional left-turn lane from Beach Road onto the Princes Highway, outside the Visitor Information Centre.

Traffic is expected to be reduced to one lane and motorists should expect delays. Motorists are requested to follow directions at the worksites, including the 40km/h speed limit.

The work is part of a $3 million upgrade of Beach Road, between the Princes Highway and Orient Street, funded by the Australian Government’s Building Our Future program.
