Community Plan Vision, Aspirations and Strategic Objectives Endorsed By Council
City of Rockingham 26 Sep 2018

The City held a series of “planning for the future” workshops between February and May 2018 where the community shared what they valued most about Rockingham and what they wanted the City to aspire to be over the next 10-20 years.   More than 500 sets of inputs were received during this process which included feedback from a range of groups including local businesses, schools, community members of a local charity, the City’s Disability Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee and a working group of Rock Port subscribers.   Mayor Barry Sammels said the Community Plan Vision, Community Aspirations and Strategic Objectives (2019-2029) outlined the community’s vision for the City over the next decade and would help guide the City’s future strategic planning.   “The City thanks the community for their support and involvement and looks forward to working closely with residents over the next 10 years to help fulfill the community aspirations,” Mayor Sammels said.     The Community Plan Vision, Community Aspirations and Strategic Objectives (2019-2029) is underpinned by four key aspirations and they include:

Actively pursue tourism and economic development Grow and nurture community connectedness and wellbeing Plan for future generations Deliver quality leadership and business expertise

The 2019-2029 Strategic Community Plan will be released in January 2019.
