Gold Coast community groups are $315,000 better off with Mayoress Ruth Tate today finalising the beneficiaries from the 2018 Gold Coast Mayoress Charity Foundation.
“I thank every Gold Coaster who has donated to this important charity foundation,’’ said Mayoress Tate.
“Our annual Mayoress Charity Ball is the key fund-raising initiative with $180,000 raised this year.
“The funds are raised through auctions on the night as well as the generosity of so many Gold Coasters who attend the ball. This year, we had 750 attendees.’’
Mrs Tate said since the foundation was re-established in 2013, the charity had raised $1.3 million.
“I’m lucky to be the spokesperson for this foundation and it is a real honour. I want to thank the dozens of volunteers who work behind the scenes to seek sponsors, raise funds and manage event activities.’’
