Round One RADF funding now available

Central Highlands Regional Council has been successful in obtaining grant funding of $35,000 through Arts Queensland’s Regional Arts Development (RADF).

Mayor Kerry Hayes said this allows council to support projects worth $60,000 in the 2018-2019 financial year.

‘Round one of funding is now available to arts and cultural projects that fit the guidelines,’ he said.

‘This is a fantastic opportunity to turn a project idea into reality or take it that little bit further and I encourage people to submit their application now.’

Queensland Arts Minister Leeanne Enoch said investing in creative and cultural experiences through the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) strengthened regional communities, boosted cultural tourism, and enhanced the quality of life in rural and remote towns and cities.

‘RADF is a unique partnership between the Queensland Government and Central Highlands Regional Council to support local talent, unite communities and celebrate the arts across the state.

‘The Queensland Government, through Arts Queensland, is contributing $2.08 million in 2018-19 in partnership with 58 councils statewide to help deliver cultural experiences which align with local priorities,’ Ms Enoch said.

Applications for round one close on Friday 26 October 2018 and the Central Highlands Arts and Cultural Advisory Committee (CHACAC) will assess applications on Thursday 1 November 2018.
