Baw Baw Shire Council is gearing up preparations for the annual Children’s Week Expo promising lots of local service information for parents and fun activities for the kids.
The free-entry expo will run from 10.00am to 1.00pm on Tuesday 23 October at Council’s Family and Children’s Services building at 144 Normanby Street in Warragul.
Mayor of Baw Baw Shire Cr Joe Gauci is encouraging residents with young children to come along and find out about children’s activities and services available across Baw Baw Shire.
“The Children’s Expo is a great day out for all with lots of information sharing, all while the kids have fun and play”, said the Mayor.
“Council staff will be on hand from Kindergarten, Family Day Care and Maternal and Child Health teams to answer any questions about their service areas. Parents will have access to information about immunisation sessions, key ages and stages to Maternal and Child Health visits.
“There will also be loads of child-friendly activities on the day including face painting, craft activities, story time with West Gippsland Libraries, community gardening and outdoor games.”
The expo will be held in the outdoor play area (weather permitting) so parents are encouraged to bring sunscreen, a hat and a water bottle. Additional parking will be available off Cambridge Drive.
