Fourteen local not-for-profit organisations will share in nearly $60,000 in the first round of 2018-19 City of Ballarat Community Impact Grants.
The funding will go towards several projects and events that will benefit a much wider variety of community members through a more diverse range of community groups.
The successful applicants include Ballarat Sebastopol Cycling Club – BMX Division, who were granted the maximum amount of $10,000 to help buy bikes and safety equipment.
This will allow youth girls and other members without access to appropriate equipment to participate in the emerging sport.

Some of the funds went towards volunteer training, environmental activities, technology, portable cricket pitches, training room upgrades, youth concerts, safety equipment and defibrillators.
Applications open for round two of the Community Impact Grants on Monday 1 October and they can be submitted until 5pm, Wednesday 31 October.
