Council fire restrictions begin this Monday 1 October. If you live in a urban growth area on land less than 0.4 hectares (approximately 1 acre), residential area or semi-rural area, you can burn off this Saturday between 10am and 3pm. To burn off outside these times, you’ll need a permit. Rural areas can burn off on any day of the week. After 1 October, permits are required in all areas to burn a windrow, stump, log or vegetation with a diameter greater that 75mm. Once the CFA Fire Danger Period is declared, permits will not be issued.
