Milne Bay Aquatic and Fitness offer free swim lessons to under 5’s

Children under the age of 5 will be given the opportunity to participate in four, free swimming lessons at Milne Bay Aquatic Centre during Learn2Swim week October 2-9.

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) Environment and Community Committee Chair Cr Geoff McDonald said “Learn2Swim Week is an inaugural swim awareness week aimed at educating parents on the importance of teaching kids under five to swim and water safety.

“By offering these free swimming lessons to children under 5 and teaching them safe water habits we hope that we can prevent another drowning occurrence” Cr Geoff McDonald said.

‘According to Laurie Lawrence teaching kids to swim is the best prevention against drowning, which is the number one cause of accidental death in children under five.
