Bellingen Shire Council has a new Deputy Mayor

The election of a new Deputy Mayor was on the agenda of the September Ordinary Council Meeting held on 26 September 2018.

General Manager, Liz Jeremy acted as Returning Officer as Cr Toni Wright-Turner was elected to the position for a one year period from 27 September 2018 to 25 September 2019.

Mayor, Cr Dominic King congratulated Cr Toni Wright-Turner on her appointment to the Deputy’s position and said he was looking forward to working with her across a range of Local Government issues. 

Cr Wright-Turner was elected to Council at the September 2016 Local Government elections following a 40 year career in education, including in the role of School Principal.

Mayor King also took the opportunity to thank outgoing Deputy Mayor, Cr Steve Klipin for his support and commitment to the role.
