The City of Bayswater has partnered with Baysie Rollers and Bayswater Men's Shed to trial a vertical garden on the corner of Whatley Crescent and King William Street in Bayswater. The garden is planned to extend along Whatley Crescent, transforming an existing fence into a wall of cascading greenery.
City of Bayswater Mayor Dan Bull said the community wanted to see more greenery in the Bayswater town centre.
"Plants, landscaping and vertical gardens were all priorities put forward at the City's place activation workshops. This vertical garden is a creative way to bring nature into an urban area where space is limited.
"Baysie Rollers and Men's Shed have done a fantastic job creating the structure for the new garden, and we hope to see the community get involved by contributing plants and helping to keep it tidy and well-maintained."
The vertical garden has been funded by the City of Bayswater and created by Bayswater Men's Shed and Baysie Rollers.
