Is your mobile black spot on the list?

Moree Plains Shire Council is collating submissions from the public for the Federal Government’s Mobile Black Spot Program’s database to support Round 4 of grant opportunities for improved mobile coverage in areas where there are clear economic and social benefits.

Economic and Community Development Manager Mark Connolly explained the submissions process provides a real opportunity for residents to have their say on problem black spots and encourage mobile operators to invest in our area.

“I encourage residents to review the database of reported poor service locations; add areas that are not listed or provide details to demonstrate a stronger case for areas of need.”

“Round 4 of the Mobile Black Spot program funding will target medical, educational and emergency services facilities, as well as key transport routes and in towns that experience seasonal demand due to tourism,” said Mr Connolly.
