Need ideas on how to beat the school holiday boredom? Wollongong City Council has a range of activities to keep the kids entertained over the two week break.
The Wollongong Botanic Garden, Wollongong City Libraries, Wollongong Art Gallery and Wollongong Youth Centre have a line-up of activities for kids of all ages that are sure to keep curious minds busy.
“There’s so much going on in Wollongong this School Holidays to keep kids and parents entertained,” Wollongong City Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery AM said.
“Best of all, these activities are offered free or at a minimal cost. A lot of these activities are very popular and can get booked out quickly so make sure you book your ticket sooner rather than later. ”
Rumble in the Jungle at Wollongong Botanic Garden
Lace up your boots and get ready for an adventure as you learn more about the plants and animals that call the jungle home. It’s $13 per child or $24 for family of two or more children. Suitable for children aged 3 – 10 years. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Craft, dance, movies and more at Wollongong City Libraries
There’s a lot to do at Wollongong City Libraries these school holidays. Why not make a dream catcher, watch a movie, enjoy a storytime, show off your best dance moves or try your hand at stop motion? All activities are free. Suitable for children aged 5 – 12 years.

Get Creative at Wollongong Art Gallery
Unlock your creative ability and play with different art forms this School Holidays. The Wollongong Art Gallery provides artist-run workshops and activities that experiment with various media in a fun and casual environment. Each two-hour workshop is $22 and the five-hour workshops are $55. Suitable for children aged 5 – 14 years.

Hang out at the Youth Centre
Wollongong Youth Centre is celebrating 25 years these School Holidays. To celebrate there are heaps of activities to get involved with. Come along to the Youth Centre Open Day on Saturday 13 October or catch some local tunes at the Music for the Mind concert on Friday 12 October. There will also be regular Hang Out sessions where you can have fun with basketball, pool, table tennis foosball or just relax with friends.
