Maroondah Youth Service’s ‘Hangout’ program, at EV’s Youth Centre in Croydon, is closed during Term 3 school holidays, but will reopen for Term 4 on Thursday 11 October 2018.

Councillor Tasa Damante said EV’s Hangout provided a great social outlet, as well as an important resource for young people.

“It’s important for young people to have somewhere safe and welcoming where they can hang out with friends or meet new people. Plus, our trained youth workers are on hand to supervise each session, as well as to provide guidance, referrals or just a friendly ear,” Cr Damante said.

EV’s Hangout, located at EV’s Youth Centre in Croydon, is a free drop-in centre providing a chilled-out space where young people can meet up with friends, or access a quiet study space, with tons of resources and youth-friendly activities.

Young people, aged 12-25, can drop in at any time between 3pm and 6pm, and enjoy free snacks, while engaging in a range of fun activities.

“If anyone requires assistance during the school holiday closure, they are welcome to contact Council’s youth workers on 9294 5704 to make an appointment to see one of our friendly youth workers,” Cr Damante said.

While EV’s Hangout may be taking a break, there are many other activities for young people to enjoy in Maroondah during school holiday time.
