The Wanneroo Library will open its doors to the public from this Sunday (7 October), marking the start of a six month trial.
Extending the opening hours to seven days a week will allow even more people to access the many free services available at the library.
Located in the heart of the Wanneroo Town Centre, the Wanneroo Library offers a whole lot more than just books.
There are free services such as the e-library and connected computer facilities, as well as programs and events geared towards early learners right through to seniors. City of Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts said as of 7 October the library will be open on Sundays from 11am – 3pm.
“Our libraries already see more than 8000 people every week, but Sunday openings will offer increased convenience for current library-goers and also encourage new visitors to call-in and discover what’s available,” Mayor Roberts said.
“This is yet another initiative the City is putting in place to provide greater access to local services and encourage community connections.”
In an effort to maximise accessibility and convenience for the community, the City will review the opening hours of other libraries pending the success of the Sunday trading trial.
