In March, the City of Swan Council voted to cease the security patrol service within Ellenbrook and The Vines from June 30, 2018, for a period of twelve months, with further feedback then to be sought from the community in 12 months time on whether they would like the service to return or not.
Following the above, in June 2018, the Council received a petition from some residents in The Vines, to reinstate the security patrols within The Vines only. As a consideration of this petition, Council resolved to resurvey The Vines community earlier than originally proposed, to understand ratepayer willingness to fund one of these options (for The Vines only). Ellenbrook residents will be surveyed later in 2019 as to whether or not they would like the patrols reinstated.
A survey has been posted to all property owners within The Vines. It is important to have your say on this matter. Please complete and return the survey in the reply-paid envelope by Friday, October 26, 2018 (one response only per property).
Once the survey has been completed, a report will be presented to Council to make a decision on any future service and the results of the survey will be given due consideration in the decision making process.
If you do not receive a copy of the survey by Wednesday, October 10, please contact the City’s Community Safety business unit via 9267 9022 so that a new one can be posted. Alternatively a survey can be obtained at Ellenbrook Place Office.
