Boroondara Seniors Festival has arrived

The Victorian Seniors Festival has arrived in Boroondara!

From 4 to 26 October 2018, we are celebrating our community of over 55s with over 60 exciting events and activities.

Inspired by the festival theme ‘Get Social’, Council and community groups across Boroondara are running free and low-cost events, including concerts, luncheons, wellbeing classes and physical activities for our older community to enjoy.

A great way to experience all the festival has to offer is at the Active Lifestyle Expo and Variety Concert on Tuesday 9 October 2018, 11am - 3.30pm.

The expo features a range of community exhibits, free workshops and demonstrations, musical performances and leading guest speakers presenting on active ageing. 

Everything is free and you can just turn up on the day; however, please register for the Speakers Panel and/or Concert.

'Add Life to Your Years’ Pop Up Lounge

Be there for the launch of the new section of our website dedicated to over 55s. It includes an easy-to-use directory for local activities, programs and services in your area and provides handy tips on keeping healthy and active in Boroondara. At the festival, meet with peer ambassadors who will demonstrate how you can access hundreds of activities and services in just a few clicks.

Boroondara Centenarians Stories: Oral History and Portrait Exhibition

This exhibition celebrates and honours the remarkable lives of ten of Boroondara’s centenarians. The personal story of each featured resident is coupled with a striking portrait, drawn by local artist Peter Wegner.
